Appeals to the High Court

High Court Appeal

If the applicant is unsuccessful in the Court of Appeal he or she may seek special leave to appeal to the High Court of Australia.

The High Court takes on very few sentencing cases on appeal.

The process is similar to the Court of appeal in that there is a preliminary screening process in the application for special leave to appeal and then, if you get through that process, a hearing of the full appeal.

Successful appeal cases from the Victorian Court of Appeal in criminal cases are extremely rare.

We are extremely experienced Appeals solicitors. We have handled a number of appeal cases in the High Court. If you need advice or representation in a High Court appeal phone us today.
